VP Kamala Harris visited hurricane-ravaged North Carolina on Wednesday and announced that a grand total of $750 would be given to those in need. Keep in mind, this is only for welfare/government recipients who do not have property insurance. This is similar to past disasters.
The residents of East Palestine Ohio after the train derailment caused a chemical disaster were given $750.
The victims of the fires in Maui were given $700.
According to DHS Secretary Majorkas, FEMA is out of money. “We do not have the funds to make it through the [hurricane] season.” President Biden suggested that lawmakers come back to DC to approve additional monies.
Where did all the money go?
FEMA has a $30 billion annual budget. Nearly $1 billion in fiscal years 2023-24 went to the “Shelter and Services Program” and noncitizen migrants. More than 10 million illegals are now in homes that could temporarily house Americans.
FEMA also spent $130 million on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training, and $20 million for a migrant welcome center recently built in San Diego.
By gleaning information posted on X, we have the following testimonies from residents and rescue workers:
Sheriffs are recommending people carry weapons with the safety off. “Desperate people do desperate things,” one sheriff warned. People have gone for six days without water and food and they are very desperate. Militias are also forming.
Bodies float down the rivers and are stuck in the tops of trees, while children cry for their missing parents. Entire communities are just gone. The death count will be in the thousands.
Migrants on work visas were preying on Tennesseans who were devastated by Hurricane Helene. Eight were arrested for robbery, according to Sen. Blackburn.
FEMA and relief organizations (with a few exceptions, such as Samaritan’s Purse) aren’t trusted, so private citizens are stepping up with rescue efforts. Some rescuers are being arrested. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg warned people to stay away, quit using drones, stop attempting to help.
According to a source in North Carolina, there are 1,000 National Guard troops ready and on the ground. They are waiting for authority from FEMA and Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC), who haven’t yet written up the mission orders.
In TN, 400 National Guard troops have received their orders. Along with supplies, they are bringing earth-moving equipment and 100 Starlink satellite systems.
President Biden did a fly-in, which kept helicopters and planes grounded for the four hours as his security required a TFR (temporary flight restriction) over the area. This halted critical rescue efforts. Biden earlier said that the states have all the relief they need—but Georgia Governor Brian Kemp disagrees. Only 11 Georgia counties out of the 90 affected were included in the FEMA Disaster Declaration.
That’s crisis number one. Next we have three others: the Longshoremen’s strike, which is threatening to cripple US food and fuel supplies, the continued attacks against Trump by the DOJ that equal election interference, and the Middle East’s descent into war.
2. Transportation Crisis: Longshoremen’s Strike
Longshoremen load and unload ships full of goods at US ports. The dockworkers union wants more money, they want to keep automation from taking their jobs, and they say the strike will continue until their demands are met.
Union President Harold Daggett has boasted how much this strike will hurt everyday Americans: “People never gave a [care] about us until now, when they finally realize that the chain is being broke now. Cars won’t come in, food won’t come in, clothing won’t come in… All these multibillion dollar foreign companies that control what American workers can make, when American workers can work, it’s pathetic.”
Secretary Buttigieg explained that in the past ten years, the shippers have seen their profitability improve by 350 percent, while wages for the dock workers went up just 15 percent. JPMorgan projected that the strike could cost the US economy $5 billion a day, and until they resume work, nothing gets in or out of the country.
Why this Matters: Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is sending the National Guard, State agencies, and State personnel to critical ports to maintain order and, where possible, resume operations. He has relaxed regulations on size and weight. The Guard will protect port infrastructure, ships, cargo, trucks, and workers from violent union agitators. He says it is unacceptable for the Biden-Harris administration “to allow supply chain interruptions to hurt people who are reeling from a category 4 hurricane.”
3. Security Crisis: Attacks on Trump
The trial of the second shooter, Ryan Routh, has been delayed indefinitely. The prosecutors say that the evidence is too “unusual and complex,” and say that 4,000 terabytes of still images, text files, and audio files still need to be reviewed.
Why this Matters: Let’s remember that the DOJ was quick to release Routh’s letter in which he offered $150,000 to anyone willing to complete the job of taking President Trump’s life.
Second Wind for Trump J6 Prosecution
Special Counsel Jack Smith—and we use that title loosely because he was not appointed correctly by the President nor confirmed by the Senate—filed another brief concerning J6. It was re-worded to get around the immunity ruling by the courts protecting President Trump for what he did related to the 2020 election.
Why this Matters: This court brief gives new legs to old news, providing CNN, ABC, etc. with negative headlines for Trump. The DOJ is again showing their extreme bias because at the same time, they’ve announced a delay in the release of Biden’s records which likely pertain to foreign business dealings. These will be held until November 6th, one day after the election.
4. Middle East Crisis: Ballistic Missile Attack on Israel
On Tuesday, Iran opened fire on Israel in retaliation for Israel killing two terror leaders and taking out their terrorist network with exploding pagers and walkie talkies. Iran fired 180+ ballistic missiles into civilian areas in Israel. Some were destroyed by Israel’s defense system and the US Navy Sixth Fleet took out multiple others.
No Israeli citizens died in the attacks.
Above: Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists on the most-wanted list in the US that have been eliminated by Israel over the past nine months.
Iran Attacks Embassies in Europe
Iran blew up the Israeli Embassy in Copenhagen and shot up the Israeli Embassy in Sweden. The orders were given by Iran’s Islamic Regime to Sweden’s largest organized crime gang run by a Kurdish man who lives in Turkey and Iraq.
Iran got more than $100 billion in sanctions relief under President Biden, with access to $10 billion of frozen funds from Iraq.
Meanwhile, the US is withholding intelligence and critical munitions from Israel, playing both sides of the war, according to Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA).
Why this Matters: That’s not the only hot spot in the Middle East. The Houthis released a video today of their attack on the Panama-flagged tanker Cordelia Moon. As soon as Biden took office, he removed the Houthis from the US terror list and sent $50 million in humanitarian aid to Yemen, their base of operations.
Russia may be working to transfer long-range Onyx anti-ship missiles to the Houthis. In June, President Putin warned that if the West continues to allow Ukraine to strike Russia, Moscow could supply long-range weapons to forces willing to attack Western nations.
Vance Dominates Debate
Senator JD Vance proved himself as an excellent choice for running mate to Donald Trump during Tuesday’s debate. He exceeded expectations, while Governor Tim Walz showed he was in over his head. Nervous, and fidgety, Walz stumbled over himself and couldn’t defend his latest lies.
Walz has falsely claimed on multiple occasions that he was in Hong Kong during the tragedy in Tiananmen Square in Spring of 1989, yet he didn't travel to Asia until August of that year. When asked to explain, Walz told moderators that he grew up riding his bike in Nebraska and then provided a short biography of his life. He lies because he’s “not been perfect,” he’s a “knucklehead,” and he “talks a lot.”
Walz said that he is friends with school shooters, but probably meant that he is friends with the victims. He also said that his 17-year-old special needs son witnessed a shooting at a community center while playing volleyball. Those things don’t leave you,” Walz said.
In fact, police records show the shooting occurred outside the recreation center, which did not have windows. Walz’s son Gus didn’t witness the shooting of a teen by a man in his 20’s (above), although he was inside the building when it happened.
Why this Matters: One thing is true, Gov. Tim Walz has a hard time with honesty. He has lied about a DIU traffic stop, lied about having an economics degree, lied about his military rank, and lied about serving in combat. The debate was another 3-against-1 match, with CBS moderators promising not to fact-check—but then fact-checking Vance only. When Vance protested, they turned off both men’s microphones.
Another story broke this week alleging Doug Emhoff, Kamala’s husband, abused his former girlfriend by slapping her forcefully during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in France. The story has been confirmed by three women, according to the Daily Mail. The ex-girlfriend, who prefers to remain anonymous, also told the DM that Emhoff admitted that he paid a settlement of around $80,000 to a nanny that he got pregnant during his first marriage.
How to Pray: One story today shows the power of faith despite disaster. A mother told a Fox News affiliate of her seven-year-old boy who drowned crying out to Jesus. She believes he was “rescued” (went to Heaven) and called him her hero. May the Lord find us likewise, faithful when life is at its end. May we be people who bring glory to His name in life and death.
Continue praying for the rescue efforts. May the Lord give us grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Psalm 3:8 - Salvation belongs unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
Thank you, Lori, for faithfully and clearly explaining the current situation the U. S. is in. And thank you for giving us a forum by which we can pray together. As a "retired" missionary with a very limited income at the present, I cannot contribute to your great work financially, but please know that you are being prayed for. God bless you!
Great reporting, Lori. I find it astonishing that this administration has done so little for these Helene victims and are barring private citizens from giving those in need the help they need as soon as possible. They truly are evil. The story about the little 7 year old boy is absolutely heartbreaking but I know he's with Jesus. Wow, so much going on. The good news is the port strike is over. At least for now.
