President Trump was right when he told us that “they” aren’t coming after him. “They” are coming after us, and he’s just in the way. That was true on January 6, and it’s been proven correct every day of his political career. He knows they may succeed, but has vowed to double-down and win, or die trying.
Several of his statements that were ridiculed by the press are undeniably accurate. Praying Citizen reported on this many times back in the day, and it is reassuring to finally have the receipts.
Send in the Troops
The top dogs at the Department of Defense ignored Trump's clear orders to beef up security and ensure safety during the election certification by deploying National Guard troops. The powers that be did not like the optics of armed soldiers or Guardsmen roaming the Capitol with weapons during what was supposed to be a peaceful transition of power. Instead of securing the Capitol, it was left to chance. And instead of being there to support peace, FBI assets instigated violence so that the DOJ could later have protesters arrested and thrown behind bars for years.
There are at least three people who are responsible: Nancy Pelosi, who admitted to denying security and later regretting it, Chris Miller, interim Defense Secretary, and Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy.
Defense Secretary Chris Miller
During interviews with the House investigators, Miller admitted he didn’t want to send in National Guard troops because of political consequences. “I hate to use the word optics because it’s been used and so prejudicially and negatively. It wasn’t the optics. It was like there was would have been huge political consequences that, because that’s what I got paid to do… my concern is the situation does not warrant at this time US military forces,” he explained.
The President asked for 100,000 troops. But Miller thought President Trump was exaggerating. After one of Trump’s long speeches, he compared Trump to Fidel Castro.
Instead of having adequate security, just 400 National Guardsmen were called to DC, and put on traffic control.
What about the police?
Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy
The Secretary of the Army got a request from DC police. They were concerned and wanted National Guard troops to be placed in advance of Jan. 6, starting around New Year’s Eve. McCarthy said no because the optics would be bad. He didn’t want to have boots on the ground anywhere near the Capitol.
Eventually, hundreds more Guardsmen were deployed that day, but it was too late. They waited because of, you guessed it, the optics. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) told Glenn Beck:
"The National Guard was purposefully delayed by the Pentagon…We do have senior officials who were saying, ‘My ultimate plan was to make sure the National Guard never got anywhere close to the Capitol that day.’”
During testimony on Wednesday, DOJ Inspector General Horowitz wouldn’t say how many federal agents (confidential human sources) were secretly positioned in the crowds on Jan. 6. Then Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) asked a gotcha question: How many agents put in travel vouchers for that day?
Horowitz said he’d have to get back to him, but not until after the November election.
Deadly Fallout
It’s important to remember that Capitol Police opened the doors to allow protesters to go inside the Capitol. Later, they were arrested because their images were caught on CCTV.
No police died that day—contrary to media reports—but about 1,200 people have been arrested, and several others died, two at the hands of officials:
Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a federal agent.
Rosanne Boyland was beaten to death by police officer Lila Morris, who was heard the morning of Jan. 6 telling fellow officers that she planned to “F* Up” white Trump supporters. This is from a sworn statement dated March 27, 2021. Video footage shows her demise, while a report by police states the beating was “objectionably reasonable.” Following the Capitol riot, Morris was hailed as a hero and traveled to the Super Bowl LIV in Tampa as a guest of honor.
Kevin Greeson, 55, and Benjamin Phillips, 50, both died naturally of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, after tear gas or flash bang concussions were shot directly towards them.
Weaponized Department of Justice
The DOJ has been weaponized against President Trump since he came down the escalator in 2015, and he has been quick to call out their subversion. The USSS seems to be incompetent as well as intentional when it comes to protecting Trump.
At a rally this week, Trump told a crowd of supporters that the FBI can’t figure out how to get into the two would-be assassins’ accounts. "They must get Apple to open these foreign apps, and they must get Apple to likewise open the six phones from the second lunatic... [but] They had no problem breaking into the apps of the J6 hostages."
Incompetent Secret Service
A Senate report revealed layers upon layers of incompetence leading to the assassination attempt at the Butler rally.
This is beyond a few mishaps. It was a cluster of terrible decisions, poor planning, and layers of rank ineptitude.
The lead Secret Service advance agent learned three days before the event about “credible intelligence” of a threat, and was asked to pass along the information, but did not.
Counter-snipers were assigned to the event, based on this intel, but the SAIC (Special Agent in Charge) wasn’t told this. They aren’t normally assigned to former Presidents.
The SAIC said he would have requested more assets if he had known.
The advance team recommended setting up a blockade of heavy equipment between the stage and nearby buildings, but that didn’t happen.
The drone the USSS planned to deploy wasn’t working. An inexperienced agent had to call tech support and borrow an ethernet cable from the Trump campaign, which took several hours.
The same thing happened with radios. They weren’t working, and different agencies didn’t communicate between themselves.
Just like the attempt at the golf course, the perimeter and inside the AGR building weren’t swept by Secret Service before the rally.
And to top it off, there was no command center to coordinate events.
In short, vital information was not shared with any protective personnel responsible for planning the event—not on the federal, state, or local level. The roof was left unprotected, giving Thomas Crooks plenty of time to plan and execute. Even though he was identified as a suspicious individual at least 27 minutes before the shooting, and was seen on the roof three minutes before he pulled the trigger, Crooks was able to take several shots. He killed Corey Comperatore, seriously wounded two others, and took off a piece of Donald Trump’s ear.
It Didn’t Enter their Minds
No one in charge had it in mind to remove President Trump from the stage. Even after the shooter was spotted.
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) responded to these findings by saying: "I'm trying to understand what it was or what it would have taken for somebody to say 'Keep Mr. Trump inside.’”
The Secret Service last week issued a report identifying failures and asking for more money. The agency also reviewed the Senate report and promised to repair the problems. Both Houses of Congress recently passed legislation providing a huge bump in funding for the USSS. The vote was unanimous, but will money fix the problem?
That’s doubtful, since the investigators are still discovering more lies.
For example, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) received a tidbit from a whistleblower revealing that Trump’s protection is still unequal to Biden-Harris. The USSS recently told the Trump campaign he couldn’t hold a rally in Wisconsin—a critical swing state—because they don’t have the capability of keeping him safe. According to the whistleblower, they had the resources, but simply denied the request.
This contradicts Ronald Rowe, acting director of the USSS, who said both campaigns were getting the same protection. Harris held a rally in Wisconsin last week.
Why this Matters: To borrow a phrase from Dan Bongino, former Secret Service agent for President Obama, this is “layers of incompetence,” which amounts to their intent to leave Donald Trump unprotected.
Threats by Iran
In our last edition of Praying Citizen, we reported that there are five known teams of assassins on a mission to take out Trump—two domestic and three foreign—according to Rep. Matt Gaetz and Homeland Security. One of those teams is Iran, whose state X account ran a video two years ago of President Trump at close range and a robot programmed to take him out.
Trump outlined the threat on Wednesday:
“Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service - Zero “NO” Votes, strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!”
Trump gave a press conference this afternoon. He decried the numbers of unvetted and criminal elements coming across the border. This coincided with reports that the Secret Service has credible intelligence that Trump Force One may be the target of ground-to-air missiles smuggled across the border. The Secret Service recommends they use multiple unmarked charter jets and split up the campaign staff. Nine surface-to-air missiles have been discovered. The Sinaloa Cartel is the only known organization capable of facilitating an operation of this scope. This is a developing story.
Why this Matters: Kamala Harris had a horrible performance in an MSNBC interview on Wednesday. As usual, she delivered word salads festooned with her favorite vocabulary words for the day—such as “holistic” and “inspiring”—while not fleshing out a single policy idea. She did promise a pathway forward for all these millions of illegals to gain citizenship, and the word is that she’ll be visiting the border tomorrow.
Seems a bit desperate, since border security is one of her weakest issues (to be fair, she’s weak on everything except abortion on demand, all the time and everywhere). Perhaps she hopes to fix her terrible term as border czar with a quick visit and another pack of lies.
President Trump is said to be winning both the popular vote and the electoral college, according to many polls. While this is “inspiring,” we all know that the election is more than a month away, and anything can happen.
How to Pray: God’s protection for all politicians. Thank God for truth being revealed; pray that the media will either report it, or be replaced by those who will. Pray that the body of Christ will not get stuck on political outcomes, but remember their first love.
Rev. 2:2-5 - I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast labored, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Again thank you Lori for taking time to view from a Christian point of view.
