Oh, the howling in the media as Trump continues to announce his cabinet picks! They must be good, because the Left is beside themselves with outrage. MSNBC’s Joy Reid proclaimed that “former and future President Trump is moving quickly to fill the Clown Car and round out his cabinet before he changes his mind and fires them all.”
She’s right about one thing. Donald Trump has wasted no time in announcing his cabinet appointments. The one creating the biggest waves is his choice of Pete Hegseth, Fox News host, to the position of Secretary of Defense. During his interview with Shawn Ryan on November 7, Hegseth outlined how he would reform military leadership—beginning with anyone involved in the DEI and CRT “woke” nonsense. He doesn’t think women should serve in combat roles, and the military has to reform its image to attract the best recruits.
HEGSETH: War fighting “is the only litmus test we care about.” Make 1995 standards, the standards. And as far as recruiting—to hire the guy that, you know, did Top Gun Maverick and create some real ads that motivate people to want to serve."
“People don't want to serve because they don't trust that their senior leaders are going to have their best interest in mind in combat." That has to change, because “now that trust is broken. And you have to re-establish that trust by putting in no- nonsense warfighters in those positions who aren't going to cater to the socially correct garbage."
Besides having served 20 years in the military and receiving two Bronze Stars, Hegseth, 44, holds degrees from Princeton and Harvard. He was a Major in the Army National Guard, and when he returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, he ran a non-profit advocating for veterans.
The Trump transition team is also considering doing more to clean out the military by creating a "warrior board" of retired personnel that can review three- and four-star officers and recommend removals.
Why this Matters: What the establishment most opposes is Hegseth’s lack of connections at Raytheon, General Dynamics, or another defense contractor and that he won’t hire drag queens to create military recruitment ads. Hegseth will have to be confirmed by two-thirds of the Senate. However, Trump intends make temporary appointments while the Senate is in recess and recess appointments are not confirmed. These would last until the end of 2026.
Senate Selects Thune as Majority Leader
Sen. John Thune (R-SD) was voted into the position of Majority Leader by GOP Senators on Wednesday. He promised to “clean up the mess” left by Biden/Harris/Schumer and to “deliver on President Trump’s priorities.”
Thune has an unimpressive 37 percent conservative voting record as ranked by The Heritage Foundation. He’s just slightly less of a RINO than John Cornyn (R-TX), who came in second. Grass roots favorite Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) trailed in third place.
Thune has a short window of opportunity to prove his support of President Trump, approve his cabinet appointments, confirm his judges, and pass a MAGA agenda.
On November 10, Thune agreed to Trump’s recess appointments, writing: “We must act quickly and decisively to get the president’s nominees in place as soon as possible, & all options are on the table to make that happen, including recess appointments. We cannot let Schumer and Senate Dems block the will of the American people.”
Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is now the new Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. The NRSC is responsible for allocating funds to Senate races so Republicans can keep and increase their Senate majority.
Trump wrote on X: “Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner. Sometimes the votes can take two years, or more. This is what they did four years ago, and we cannot let it happen again. We need positions filled IMMEDIATELY!”
Above: During Oval Office meeting Wednesday, Biden acknowledges Trump as president-elect, smiles, shakes his hand, and says, "Welcome back."
Trump Wages War on Deep State
The next most outrageous appointment is Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to serve as Attorney General. Trump calls Gaetz a “deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice.”
Let’s remember that it was the Department of Justice that orchestrated and coordinated multiple coup attempts against Trump, including impeachment, attempted imprisonment, and bankruptcy. It was FBI Director Wray who questioned if Trump was really hit in the head by a bullet.
Why this Matters: The deep state within the DOJ is particularly concerned about this appointment. Gaetz knows where all the Russia hoax/Crossfire Hurricane/FISA bodies are buried, and who was in charge of the cover-up. Expect the rats to abandon ship if it looks like Gaetz will get Senate confirmation. The US ex-pat communities in countries without extradition treaties are about to grow exponentially.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) to head the State Department. Trump described him as a “fearless warrior who will never back down to our adversaries.”
Tulsi Gabbard (above) to Director of National Intelligence. She is a former Democrat congresswoman and former presidential candidate, as well as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve. Tulsi is now a “proud Republican.” The intelligence community spied on her during the 2024 campaign after Tulsi joined forces with Donald Trump. They also put her on a terror watch list, accusing her of being a Russian asset.
Gov. Kristi Noem to serve as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In making the announcement, President Trump said Noem “will work closely with Border Czar Tom Homan to secure the border, and “guarantee that our American Homeland is secure from our adversaries."
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.), taking a sledgehammer to government waste. It will "slash excess regulations" and "cut wasteful expenditures,” according to the official announcement.
Trump says he looks forward to Elon and Vivek making changes to the federal bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans.
Musk posted on X that DOGE actions will be posted online for maximum transparency, and they welcome public feedback. “We will also have a leaderboard for most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars,” Musk said. “This will be both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining.”
Why this Matters: Not one of these appointees is afraid of the DC Swamp or the media. They’re all young—Vance (40), Stefanik (40), Gabbard (43), Gaetz (42), Hegseth (44), Zeldin (44), Vivek (39). Only Marco Rubio (53) and Elon Musk (53) are “old guys.” This is the new, liberty-loving generation that will lead the country.
How to Pray: Praise God for favor and the blessings of freedom! Pray for the member of Congress who will make or break Trump’s MAGA agenda. May they be moved to do the right things. Continue praying for the health, safety, wisdom, and humility for Trump and his team as they prepare to lead our great nation.
Matthew 23:12 - And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Lori keep up the good work, I've been following you for years !
