The next witch hunt, as it turns out, is how did a raging anti-Trump journalist get included in a top-level Cabinet chat on Signal?

While President Trump announced very big policies from the Oval Office today, all the press wanted to know is who is responsible. The Democrats and media want it to be Secretary of Defense Hegseth. In fact, they’ve already filed a lawsuit against Hegseth and four others, but Trump laid the blame at the feet of his National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz.

Here’s the back story:

Several top level Trump officials and their staff were invited to participate in a chat on the Signal app. This is a pre-approved, pre-loaded platform employed by the Biden Administration. They were discussing provisions of a strike against terrorists in Yemen. Unfortunately, in what Trump terms a “mistake,” National Security Advisor Michael Waltz accidentally added one of the most unreliable journalists in Washington to the chat.

Jeffrey Goldberg, who writes for The Atlantic, waited until the operation was over before letting the cat out of the bag: he was part of the chat and read all of the messages. Two days ago, The Atlantic released Goldberg’s story with the headline: “Here are the Attack Plans that Trump’s Advisers Shared on Signal.”

President Trump said he always thought it was Mike Walz who included Goldberg, “it was nothing to do with anyone else.” The attacks [against the terrorists in Yemen] were successful, said Trump, and that’s what the news media should be talking about—or the fact that the greatest companies in the world are moving into America.

The messages did not reveal sources, methods, or names, targets, routes, locations; the content was “sensitive,” but not classified. There were no war plans, but Democrats are doubling-down on accusing the administration of harming the country.

Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) accused the Trump administration of putting “American soldiers in harm’s way.”

A lawsuit has been filed in DC against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and four other cabinet members. The presiding judge is James Boasberg, the same one who ruled that Trump must turn around the planes loaded with violent criminals and bring them back to the US for “due process.” Notably, an appeals court denied Trump’s request to lift the block on continuing those flights.

The lawsuit against the Trump administration was brought by American Oversight, which seeks “to recover unlawfully deleted messages and prevent further destruction.” It is populated by former Obama and Clinton officials, and closely related to Democrat-funded charities.

Who Dunnit?

When President Trump was asked today how Goldberg was added to the Signal chat, Trump said, “It was one of Michael’s people on the phone. A staffer had his number on there.”

Journalist Laura Loomer believes that Alex Wong, Deputy National Security Advisor, added Goldberg’s contact number to the Signal chat. Wong is Walz’s Deputy National Security Advisor.

He’s married to US Attorney Candice Chiu Wong, who was a key attorney prosecuting J6ers. Chiu Wong’s father worked for 23 years at AsiaSat Hong Kong, the leading satellite provider in Asia. The company is partially owned by the Chinese Communist Party. The satellites regularly carry communications traffic for Chinese military units and companies owned by the Chinese military.

Why this Matters: The administration is tracking down who put Goldberg in the chat, and while national security wasn’t compromised, this was a bad “mistake.” Republicans are defending themselves by reminding Americans that it was under President Biden that 13 service members were killed in the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. In fact, there is no end to the blunders of previous Democrat administrations—from Hillary placing a private email server in her bathroom while she was Secretary of State, to the numerous intelligence officials who lied about spying on Donald Trump. No one was fired, nor has anyone apologized.

Was it really an accident, an innocent mistake—or was it a planned security breach to undermine President Trump? It seems he is taking the high road now. We’ll have a better idea if time goes by and no one is fired.

Trump Announces Auto Tariffs

President Trump spoke to the press from the Oval Office, where he announced 25 percent tariff will be imposed on all autos not made in America. Several foreign automakers, trying to avoid the tariffs, have announced they will be making the following investments in the US:

• Hyundai - $20 billion investment, including $5.8 billion for a new steel plant in Louisiana, which will create nearly 1,500 jobs.

• Dutch Automaker Stellantis - $5 billion investment, including re-opening an Illinois manufacturing plant.

• Volkswagen - may shift production of Audi and Porsche to US

• Honda - expected to produce Civic hybrids in Indiana.

• Nissan - considering moving production from Mexico to US

• Rolls-Royce - expected to expand US-based operations

• Volvo - may expand US-based output

Executive Order on Election Integrity

President Trump is preparing for the 2026 elections by signing an Executive Order to preserve election integrity. His order ties voter ID to federal funding. Voters must show proof of US citizenship to register, states must have a paper ballot record where the information is not recorded using a barcode or QR code. Additionally, the EO:

• Establishes information-sharing partnerships with state election authorities to detect fraud

• Penalizes states that record votes after Election Day

• Cancels Biden’s Executive Order 14019, using federal resources to “get out the vote” through potentially partisan officials.

The Department of Justice will take steps to prosecute election crimes.

How to Pray: Many heroes in the Bible, including Jesus, faced betrayal. There is a rebuke coming if someone intentionally planted Goldberg’s information in the Signal chat. Pray for President Trump to make right decisions regarding the economy. Pray that the Lord will impress His will upon the judges who are seeking to stop the legal actions of a lawfully elected president. Pray for all who are trying to follow the Lord as they serve us in office.
